Reset EPCS passphrase

When you remember your passphrase but want to change it as a security measure, reset your EPCS passphrase (controlled substance password) by logging into the EPCS Admin Console.  

1. Go to the EPCS Admin Console

2. Log in with your NPI and passphrase.

3. Select a token and enter a one-time pin or one-time passphrase (OTP) to finish logging in.

4. Click the Profile tab. Then select Change EPCS Passphrase.

5. Select an active token associated with your account and submit.

6. Follow the prompts to enter your current passphrase and create a new passphrase. 

Your new passphrase must meet the following requirements:

    • 8-20 characters
    • At least 1 upper case letter
    • At least 1 number
    • No more than 2 consecutive uses of the same character
    • Avoid special characters
