Purpose: This article explains how to update or reinstall the iPrescribe app on Android and Apple devices, and how to enable automatic updates on iOS.

Always use the latest version of iPrescribe
Keeping iPrescribe up to date ensures you have access to the latest features and fixes. You can find the current version number here: iPrescribe Release Notes.
How to update iPrescribe on Android devices
To update the iPrescribe app on your mobile device, follow the steps outlined below:
1. Tap the Play Store mobile app icon from your device's home screen.
2. Search for iPrescribe in the search field at the top of your screen. In your search results, tap iPrescribe by DrFirst, then tap the Update button.
- If your iPrescribe app is not up-to-date, you will see an Update button.
- If your iPrescribe app is already updated, you will see an Open button.
Note: Sometimes the Open button appears even when an update is available. If you're unsure whether your app is up to date, you can also open and check the version number at the bottom of the login screen.
If your Google Play Store is still not showing the current iPrescribe version:
- Restart your phone.
- Update your phone to the latest version (if not already).
- Reinstall the iPrescribe app entirely, as outlined below.
1. Uninstall the app.
- Open the Play Store app by tapping it from your home screen.
- Search iPrescribe in the search field at the top of your screen, then tap the iPrescribe logo from your search results.
- Tap Uninstall, then in the window that appears, tap Uninstall again.
2. Reinstall the app.
- Open the Play Store by tapping its logo from your phone screen.
- Search iPrescribe in the search field at the top of your screen, then tap the Install button next to the iPrescribe app.
How to update iPrescribe on Apple devices
To update the iPrescribe app on your mobile device, follow the steps outlined below:
1. Tap the App Store mobile app icon from your device's home screen.
2. Search for iPrescribe in the search field at the top of your screen. In your search results, tap iPrescribe by DrFirst, then tap the Update button.
- If your iPrescribe app is not up-to-date, you will see an Update button.
- If your iPrescribe app is already up-to-date, you will see an Open button.
Note: Sometimes the Open button appears even when an update is available. If you're unsure whether your app is up to date, you can also open and check the version number at the bottom of the login screen.
The iPrescribe team updates the app to add new features and fix problems. Apple/iOS devices can automatically install app updates.
On your iPhone:
- Go to Settings.
- Scroll down and tap App Store.
- Turn on Automatic Downloads.
