What is a provider agent?
A provider agent is an active staff user designated by a provider to send non-controlled prescriptions to the pharmacy on the provider's behalf. The provider then receives a notice to sign the transmitted prescription. Provider agents may also click to renew a controlled prescription for the provider to sign and send; provider agents cannot send controlled substances to a pharmacy, per DEA regulations.
Who can authorize or revoke a provider agent?
You may authorize or revoke a provider agent if you are a provider and your practice is not located in New York.
