Purpose: This article explains how to set up and use iPrescribe Connect.
Audience: iPrescribe users
iPrescribe Connect protects your privacy by allowing you to you call patients directly from the iPrescribe app and displaying your practice phone number instead of your personal number.
Prerequisites: Before setting up iPrescribe Connect, confirm the following:
- Your practice has a direct line and do not have an automated answering system that routes calls by asking callers to select automated menu options.
- Google Voice users: Disable Google Voice call screening feature before setup. See disable Google Voice's security feature.
- If you are part of multiple practice locations, iPrescribe Connect will use your default practice location's phone number, which is set during self-registration. If you want to change your practice phone number, please submit a request.
Access iPrescribe Connect
1. Log in to the iPrescribe app.
2. There are multiple ways to get started with iPrescribe Connect:
1. Go to the home page and select Connect.
2. If you know the number you want to dial, enter it on the Connect dialer and click the green phone icon to place the call. Note: The phone number that appears at the top of the screen is what will show up on the patient's caller ID.
If you need to look up a patient's phone number, select the address book icon to bring up patient search.
a. Search for your patient's name.
b. Select your patient's name to see their profile.
3. Tap the Call phone icon on the top right or the patient's phone number listed in their profile.

a. Select New Rx from the main menu
b. Search for your patient's name.
c. Select your patient's name to see their profile.
2. Select the Call phone icon on the top right or the patient's phone number that is listed in their profile.
Get started with Connect
3. Next, iPrescribe Connect prompts you to set up. Select the Get started with Connect button.
- If you select the Not now option, you may still call your patient from the app. Your patient will see your personal mobile number.
- iPrescribe will prompt you each time you make a call.
4. iPrescribe will show you your practice number. This is the number that you entered when you self-registered for iPrescribe.
Select Call my practice number to get a verification code via automated phone call to your practice phone.
- If you do not have access to your practice phone number at the time, do not set up iPrescribe Connect; set up iPrescribe Connect next time you make a call.
- If you are using Google Voice for your practice number, please disable your call screening feature. Learn how: Verification code troubleshooting
5. Enter your verification code.
Note: If you are part of a practice with an automated telephone answering system that routes phone calls using a menu of options for callers, you will not be able to receive the automated phone call with the verification code to enable iPrescribe Connect.

6. After verifying your phone number, iPrescribe opens the call screen and you can call your patient.

Congratulations! You've finished setting up iPrescribe Connect and can now call patients from the app.
Call a patient using iPrescribe Connect
1. Go to the home page and select Connect.
2. If you know the number you want to dial, enter it on the Connect dialer and click the green phone icon to place the call. Note: The phone number that appears at the top of the screen is what will show up on the your patient's caller ID.

a. Search for your patient's name.
b. Select your patient's name to see their profile.

2. Select Connect.
3. Go to your patient's profile as you would normally:
a. Select New Rx from the home page.
b. Search for your patient's name.
c. Select your patient's name to see their profile.
Choose which number shows on patient caller ID
- Each time you call your patient and choose Call From Office, iPrescribe will show your practice phone number on the patient's caller ID by default.
- To select which number will display on the patient's caller ID when you are placing a call, select the caret icon, then select the phone number you want to display. Use this feature to mask your phone number with a number of your choosing.

- You may also choose to place a Direct Call from your mobile number, meaning that your personal phone number will appear on your patient's caller ID.
